The liquid repellent surface is anti-bacterial and just needs a quick rinse under running water in the event of spillages. No detergents and machine washing needed.
Many of the fabrics I use for the books are my own recycled costumes never to be worn again or restyled leaving several large sections of waste materials, but lately I have also been using off-cuts glean from the floor around the floor of a tailor in Peckham. It’s fun collecting these as I never know what fabrics will turn up and subsequently inspire ne designs.
